8. How to Prepare Your Lesson

We highly encourage leaders to use the unique children’s church curriculums from Kids in Ministry International because of the depth of the meat of God’s word woven into them. But we recognize it may not always be possible. So at some point, many kids ministers will begin writing their own lessons.
This session reminds leaders of the most important elements they need to include each week, how to organize their thoughts, and what concepts and principles to keep in the back of their minds to make sure they do not go back into the default mentality of building everything around a Bible story. It ends with a discussion of recognizing the difference between being an anointed minister or just a good entertainer because of the gifts and talents one possesses.
