13. A Holy and Righteous Generation

This generation has been more assaulted with immorality on every front than any other generation in American history. We have credible statistics that show there is virtually no difference in the lifestyles morally of this generation of teens and youth than their non-Christian counterparts. The Bible exhorts us all, no matter what our ages, to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5).
As parents and church leaders, we must teach our children to think long-term and realize that nothing will stop God’s perfect plan for their lives quicker than a disregard for holiness and righteousness. We must impact them while they are young with the scripture that says, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” (Romans 12:2). It’s a big job, but it can be done through the grace, love, and help of the Holy Spirit.
